Concept dashboard designs for CPD web application
BACKGROUND
The Royal Australasian College of Surgeons (RACS) is a non-profit organization that trains surgeons and maintains surgical standards in Australia and New Zealand. The Continuing Professional Development (CPD) application helps surgeons manage their professional development activities and mandatory requirements required by the medical boards for continued registration.
Before the application was developed we wanted to check what UI appealed to the users the most. To get user inputs we showcased 4 different high-fidelity prototypes of the dashboard.
MY ROLE
-
I conducted user research and created 4 high-fidelity prototypes
WHY THE APPROACH? AND RESULTS?
The project had to be delivered in a limited time and the best possible approach to delivering the MLP (Most likable product) was to gather feedback from the users promptly.
The visual mockups helped users provide instantaneous feedback on what worked for them and what didn’t. We were able to develop the MLP in 7 days.
THE PROCESS
We followed a twisted process for this project since we were short on time. We tested the high-fidelity dashboard designs with the users directly without creating wireframes and low-fidelity prototypes to get rapid feedback and iterate on the high fidelity designs. This approach proved very efficient for this project, as we were able to deliver designs that users liked.

KEY TAKEAWAY
-
Collaboration is the key to a successful outcome. Working alongside business analysts every step of the way helped speed up the process of iterating the prototypes to achieve the desired outcome.
